I've been thinking about my fabulous fiends this week. Not the book fiends, but my personal friends. I have a small group of close friends who I've only known for a handful of years, but who have had a tremendous impact upon me. Why? Because they're the first group of people who have accepted the darker side of my personality without judgment. That's why you'll see their names in the book; it's a special thank you to them for inspiring and accepting me. It's amazing how meeting one person can so radically alter your life and put it on a path that you knew was always out there, but you couldn't find it or didn't know you should even be looking for it. (Lord, that's a mouthful.) My hubby and I have been fortunate to connect with a group of friends who are amazingly supportive and open minded about the material I write. Knowing them has given me the courage to undertake this project. And, then of course, having Matilde enter my head and bring her story to me was an amazing turn. You just never know who you will meet, what they will bring to your life, and how you will impact theirs.
It pays to open your eyes, your mind and your heart. Friends, and fiends, are such a gift!
