In addition to reviews, she lists $.99 and free books, and regularly participates in (and hosts) giveaways through her blog. Jenn also hosts flash giveaways through her Facebook page.
Just for shits and giggles, I turned the tables and asked Jenn a few questions:
How often do you post reviews?
When I started it was 4-5 reviews a week because I devoured books and had a back log of books I had read and could review without re-reading. Then I went back to school to finally finish my degree and that has cut into my reading/reviewing time. With that I try and post 2 new reviews a week. I often try and introduce new followers to past reviews as well by posting them on facebook as “New to You Reviews.” When time allows her I also have a friend, Darci, who has done some guest reviews for me.
What makes you fall in love with a character?
With male characters it tends to be their devotion, protectiveness and heart of gold. If the men are damaged and flawed then it is even better because then they are just as real as you and me. With females I fall in love with their strength. I don’t’ like weak female characters, or ones that let everything crush them. I love knowing they are smart and determined and use common sense. All that rolled up makes me LOVE THEM.
What makes you throw a book across the room?
One of two things will do this 1) A character acting against how they were written and in such a way it makes no sense what so ever and 2) Something so utterly and completely shocking that I was not expecting and goes in a direction I would not have liked to see the story go. Granted most times if I continue to read I will be glad I didn’t throw it, but sometimes I wish I did still.
What book have you read over and over and over and over again and still love?
Books from childhood pop up as the first to make me read and re-read. Those include The Chronicles of Narnia and Harry Potter(okay, I might have been an adult at this point for some of Harry Potter). After that there was Sophie’s World (mostly because I had to read it several times to finally understand it!) Then came books that I know so many have read and re-read Twilight and Fifty Shades of Grey (I consider these my reality t.v. guilty pleasure of books). The more blogging I do though the less I find I get to re-read books because I am so eager to read what is next on my TBR. Given a moment I would probably re-read The Fever Series by Karen M. Moning. The one thing I know for sure though is so many childhood favorites I am looking forward to re-exploring through the eyes of my children.
I hope you'll take a moment to head over to Back Off My Books and check out Jenn's reviews.
